Starting out on a personal note: These past months have been tough for me. Lots of unexpected circumstances made it difficult to plan for the future of Pixelite Novels among other things. One of my goals for 2025 was to produce some merchandise for our series to be sold at Manga-Comic-Con in Leipzig end of March. This would have been a shot in the dark, because I have never tried producing or selling merchandise for our books, save for a handful of booklets, postcards and bookmarks to give away for free. With my financial situation suddenly changing, it became even harder to commit to any expense that isn’t directly tied to releasing new books for you.

That’s why I need your help!

I want to produce three acrylic standees feat. Silva, Kuro and Elsa from Brandon Varnell’s Catgirl Doctor, which we have been releasing in German since 2023. The goal is to produce 33 of each standee, and depending on if we hit our stretch goals, I’m hoping to produce even more goodies, such as art cards, a poster and stickers.

Our second and final english announcement for the year 2024 will be „Orc x Goblin“ by Anna Kleve, with illustrations by Yunuyei.

Gardal is smaller than the other orcs, but that doesn’t make him any less fierce. However, rejected by his own, he defies orders and finds himself injured in an unknown valley. More dead than alive he is found by Darak, a goblin, who now finds himself at a crossroads, that may lead to destruction. Will he still be able to help the orc?

This will be our first foray into the BL genre, and there is no-one better to choose, than Anna Kleve, author of countless gay romance novels. And the illustrator isn’t a noname either. Yunuyei is fairly well-known in the German manga community for her cute illustrations and self-published manga! „Orc x Goblin“ is the first of a series of stand-alone BL-fantasy titles featuring fun pairings such as „Dwarf x Slyvan“ or „Vampire x Tooth Fairy.“

„Orc x Goblin“ will release in late fall 2024 for 15€ as a paperback and 8€ as an eBook. And on top of that there will be a Limited Edition sold exclusively through this store, featuring a booklet containting the short novella „Fairy x Trickster,“ a stand-alone story set in the same universe. The limited edition will be sold for 25€, again exclusively through our store. Pre-orders will go up in January.

It’s time for some you new announcements for our English-language line-up! The first being our first wholly Original German Light Novel to be released in English: „Girlem“ by Martina Kald, cover illustration by rebis.

To aid with turning the tables in a battle of Good against Evil, Arbogast the Necromancer plays his trump card, by summoning a soul from another world, and sealing it inside the body of a golem. To his disappointment the soul doesn’t belong to a brave knight or wise magician, with the power to dominate over his enemies. Lieselotte is a dog groomer, and she won’t let her golem-body stop her from doing what she does best: now it’s time for the dungeon dwellers to get brushed, groomed and for those dangerous monsters to discover their hidden, much cuter side.

This comedic take on the isekai-genre has been a favorite among Tiny Tusk’s Light Novels, and it’s no wonder why. This charmingly funny story will have you craving for more, especially since it is a one-shot.

„Girlem“ will release in spring of 2024. Since this book seems to be a bit shorter than our other releases, pre-orders aren’t available yet, because we still have to figure out pricing for this one. This post will be updated accordingly.

Happy book birthday! My V-Tube Avatar is now finally (sort of) out in the world! You should be able to purchase the E-Book and the Paperback through most major retailers in the coming days, unless there are some delays with approval …

Regarding the store-ordered paperbacks, they have been sent to the printer, and I hope to send them to you by Mid-November. (Assuming there aren’t any production issues like with The Heroes’ Story.)

Firstly, the book is mostly finished. It has been proof-read, the paperback has been formatted. Only thing missing are the pre-order bonuses, and the eBook formatting. Because life has been a bit busier than expected, I have decided to prolong preorders! You can now pre-order the book until the 29^th of October, with arrival of the volumes expected in November.

That’s it for our final English release this year, so let’s continue in German.

Die Geschichte der Helden nach der Rettung der Welt Band 1

Gute Neuigkeiten für die Helden Geschichte! Nachdem wir zunächst auf eine Veröffentlichung über Print-On-Demand zurückweichen mussten, können wir endlich verkünden, dass sich die Helden Geschichte bald auf den Weg in den Buchhandel machen wird. Ab dem 16. Oktober wird PPM unseren Vertrieb innerhalb Deutschlands und Österreichs übernehmen und dafür sämtliche Comicläden beliefern. Wir freuen uns drauf!

Catgirl Doctor Band 1

Auch die Arbeit am ersten Band Catgirl Doctor schreitet stetig voran. Das Buch befindet sich aktuell im Korrektorat und nun steht der Veröffentlichung im Dezember eigentlich fast nichts mehr im Weg

Wir sind froh, dass es nach unserer kleinen Sommerpause jetzt so schön weiter geht und hoffen euch vor Ende des Jahres noch ein paar neue Lizenzen präsentieren zu dürfen!

My V-Tube Avatar Is the Wrong Gender!?

Last month we started with the publication of the Webnovel on Tapas as well as taking preorders, which have been trickling in slowly. We’re still aiming to release the novel in October, but depending on the amount of preorders we get, the release date might shift by a couple of days. As a reminder, the special pre-order bonus for this novel is having your username featured as one of the many chatters during protagonist Gaia’s streams! Tentative end date for preorders is October 16^th.

We’re currently editing the novel as we publish it online, and hope to send it of to copy editing this month, so everything is set for the release.

In other news:

We are also preparing our releases for next year and hope to have some news for you within the next few months. As a little teaser, we hope to publish some Light Novels from German authors in English. I hope you are all looking forward to that.

As part of our promotion plan we have started posting chapters on Tapas! You can now read the entire first chapter and by the end of October you should be able to read the full novel online. Of course you can also pre-order the eBook and the paperback through our store, with a neat little bonus: You’ll have the chance to designate a name for one of the many chatters during Gaia’s live streams, so go ahead and check it out.

We’re aiming for a release in mid-October.

Another month has passed and so quickly on top of that! So, it’s time for another update. This time we decided to put both the German and the English update together, to make things less confusing. We’ll start with our planned English releases, the German ones you’ll find below.

General Update

We’ve finally gotten around to making some long-needed purchases, which includes buying ISBNs and making sure our books are listed by all major retailers! Of course, Amazon was the quickest to do that, though you won’t be able to order through Amazon yet. The best place to do that will still be our store for now.

The Heroes’ Story After Saving the World – Vol 1

Well, it seems like all the work for this book is done! Formatting both the paperback and the eBook has been completed, and right now I’m just waiting for approval from publishing platforms. The eBook will be distributed through Kobo, while the regular edition will be available through IngramSpark. Truth be told, I’ve had a bit of a hard time properly adjusting the cover wrap according to IngramSpark’s guidelines. I think I’ve resubmitted it for the fourth time now, and sadly they take up to three days to get back to me. I just hope the book will be made available for retailers for its intended release date. Speaking of which …

The Heroes’ Story After Saving the World – Volume 1 releases July 31^st.

Other than that, we’ve managed to rake in some pre-orders for this book, so thank you very much. Thanks to those pre-orders we’ll be able to do a small-printing of both Collector’s Editions for these books.

Not many updates on that front. For July we are planning some major edits for this one, before preparing for our pre-launch campaign, if you will. We’ll (re-)launch the Web-Novel on several platforms in early August, while promoting pre-orders through our shop. These pre-orders will replace the Kickstarter campaign that was originally planned.

Allgemeines Update:

ISBNs gekauft, Listungen im VLB angelegt, die Bücher sind jetzt bei Amazon und bald hoffentlich bei den Buchhandlungen angelegt. Bestellen kann man dort aktuell noch nicht, am sichersten geht das immer noch über unseren Shop. Im Laufe des Monats ist es dann aber hoffentlich so weit und ihr werdet unsere Bücher auch über die Buchhandlungen bekommen können.

Das Korrektorat für die deutsche Fassung ist abgeschlossen! Jetzt geht es nur noch ans Formattieren und hochladen und die Geschichte der Helden kann losgehen!

Catgirl Doctor – Band 1

Die Übersetzung des ersten Bandes ist abgeschlossen! Jetzt muss das Ding erstmal ins Lektorat und dann ins Korrektorat, aber bis dahin dauert es noch etwas. Erstmal bereiten wir uns fertig auf die Veröffentlichung der Heldengeschichte vor, sowie die englische Veröffentlichung des V-Tube Avatars.

I already talked about what our next steps might be in case the campaign fails, but now I’ve made more concrete plans regarding that. I’ve already made my intent to publish these books more than clear, but since I’m missing some funds, I’ll have to prioritize production in some places.

For now, I’ll be focusing on getting both the English and the German regular editions published.

Almost everything is set for the English release, except conversion into ePub format, which is barely a day’s work. The English regular edition will be widely made available through IngramSpark in paperback format as planned. We are hoping to have this version published by the end of July.

The German edition has finally entered its final edits, which we are expecting to be finished early to mid-July, so it should also be available by the end of July.

Both regular editions are available for pre-order through our shop. Every pre-order gets their copy signed if they wish so. The regular editions will definitely be released as planned.

As for both Collector’s Editions: Preorders in the shop are also open until July 16^th! We will only print as many copies as funding through preorders will allow us to do. The Collector’s editions will be limited as planned and remaining copies will be sold exclusively through our shop thereafter.

So, for those of you who backed our campaign and still want to get their hands on a book: For now, our shop is the best way to go!

Due to popular demand we‘ve added a handful of tiers through which you can receive the German version! More details below!

As a German company we were expecting to receive a handful of requests as to whether this Kickstarter would also give potential backers the opportunity to receive a German version of this book. Originally, we decided against a German version because we figured not enough people would back the German version, but also because we didn’t want to bloat our campaign with over a dozen reward options! However, there were a lot more requests than expected so we decided to give everyone the option to also get the German version of the book.

What are the new tiers?

We added three new tiers, the Digital German, the Physical German, the German Collector’s Edition, and the German All-in-One. These all cost the same and contain the same benefits as their English counterparts, only in German! For both the Early Bird tiers we decided against doubling these, as we want to maintain their exclusivity status, by not adding double the opportunity for backers to get them. However, you’ll still be able to get the German version with those tiers. After the campaign ends successfully, we will send out mails to all the backers for these tiers, asking them which version they prefer. Should we not get an answer in time we will default to the English version, however. Please be mindful, that completion of the German rewards may take longer than the English ones, as the English version is just a handful steps ahead in production, which I will also get into later.

What if I already backed the English version, but want to switch to the German version?

Then you can do just that! Sadly, I don’t have a way of definitively verifying it for you (and give you a handsome tutorial with screenshots and all) but according to the Kickstarter help page you can change your tier, as long as the campaign has not ended!

Well then, hopefully I have not forgotten about any of the important stuff, so let’s move on to some more status updates.

Our book proofs

Sadly, our book proofs for both the English and the German version have not arrived yet, and I am afraid they won’t until the campaign ends. For the book proofs we took advantage of the German Print on Demand service called Books On Demand, whom I’ve had some experience with before. Unfortunately, it seems they’ve had some trouble integrating a new printing and logistics center into their workflow which leads to many, many delays. So far, the entire process of ordering a book on demand has taken around 10 days for me usually, which is why I don’t expect my order to be completed in time. I don’t want to let you go without another tidbit however, so here I present to you the tentative full cover wraps for the English and German version:

About the German Version:

Lastly, I though I should let you know about the current status of the German version. A week or two ago it left the copy-editing process, which means it is now due for proof-reading, which we’ll be tackling next month. After that comes the layout, which means the book should be ready for print in early July.
